Marker

The small inline citation marker inside a sentence that previews its source on hover or focus and opens it on click.

Usage

n number | string (default 1): The marker's number or label (default: 1)
source { name: string, title?: string, url?: string, snippet?: string } (default MARKER_SOURCE): What the marker points at; shown in the card on hover or focus (default: MARKER_SOURCE)
variant "number" | "dot" | "name" (default "number"): Number shows `n` in mono, dot shows a small accent dot, name shows the source name (default: "number")
onOpen (source) => void: Fires on click or Enter; the card stays a hover and focus preview

The marker is a button named Source N: source name, and Enter or Space fires onOpen like a click.
The source card is linked with aria-describedby and opens on keyboard focus as well as hover.
Escape hides the card; it reappears on the next hover or focus.
The link inside the card is tabbable only while the card is open.

The card clamps to the viewport, not to a scrolling parent, so it can be clipped by an ancestor with overflow hidden.
